Location

Treehotel is located in the beautiful village of Harads, approximately 60 km south of the Arctic Circle, and one hour drive from Luleå, which has the largest airport in northern Sweden. Harads is a place that surrounded by forest and water and by stillness and wilderness. Here lives 600 inhabitants. We have restaurants, stores, hostel, gas station, swimming facilities, view point Klippan and a beautiful church.

Why Harads
Our lives in dense and busy cities, loaded with stress, give us little opportunity to live simply in the true beauty of nature’s wilderness. Undisturbed nature, such as we have here in Harads is an increasingly rare and valuable asset. That’s why two entrepreneurs chose to build their concept hotel here, so that you can experience the calm, the simplicity and the unspoilt beauty in harmony with the surroundings.

We are fortunate enough to live in one of the most beautiful parts of Northern Sweden, surrounded by natural forests. What better way to make use of the assets on our doorstep.

The history of Harads is actually about hydropower and the story of the navvies. Until then, the source of development and the main attraction for settlers was the salmon fishing, primarily at the Edefors rapids. The salmon fishing at Edefors was so good that a whole town could be built from its profits. On 12 July 1621 Gustav II Adolf donated, by charter, some of the salmon fishing rights to the town of Luleå, then in need of resources for expansion.
